PROCEDURES FOR COFFEE MAKERS

The coffee makers should be at the church by 9:10 a.m.

The coffee cart is just to the right of the door entering the kitchen from the Fellowship Hall.

The coffee and hot water urns are in the bottom of the cart.  Set them on top of the cart and wheel over to the sink.  Fill as follows:

Coffee Urn                2 cups of coffee makes 55 cups - put coffee filter in basket
Hot Water Urn          Winter - 50 cups water for cocoa

The coffee, cocoa mix, lemonade mix and cups are in the upper cabinets to the right of the sink.  Containers for creamer, sugar, stirrers, money and spoons are in the drawer of the coffee cart.

Make sure the urns are starting to heat.  If you encounter problems, contact the Head Deacon or Elder on duty for assistance.

The cocoa/lemonade pitchers are in cabinet above sink.  Towels are in the drawer left of the sink.  Extra cups are in the cabinets 2nd left of the coffee cart.

Put 2 cups cocoa mix in each of the 4 plastic pitchers to be ready for mixing after worship.  Use hot water from urn.  Please do not leave leftovers.  (If you run out of cocoa, usually the water from the tap is hot enough or heat water in microwave oven)

Summer months -  make lemonade instead of cocoa.  Use powered lemonade as provided.   Pitcher holds two quarts, so follow directions on the can.  (4 scoops lemonade to each pitcher)  Make 3 pitchers. (some Sundays you might need to make an extra pitcher)  Ice cubes can be obtained from the church refrigerator.  Please refill the trays.  Please do not leave leftovers.

Leave the sanctuary at the beginning of the final hymn.  Slide the hot water upon the counter.  One person prepares the cocoa and serves it at the kitchen counter. Please do not fill cups anymore than 3/4 full.

After preparing the coffee, wheel the cart (before the worship service) to the NORTH END of  Fellowship Hall placing the cart to the left of the wall panels in front of the wall plug.   Use the wood rolling table for hot chocolate/lemonade and place next to the coffee.  Place the kitchen  wastebasket beside the coffee cart.  CLEAN UP:  Return coffee cart to the kitchen via church school hall  (past the bathrooms).  PUT THE CONTAINER (IN CART DRAWER) OUT TO COLLECT DONATIONS FOR COFFEE.

Donations are made by the coffee and cocoa/lemonade drinkers to defray expenses.  The container for this should be placed on the cart.  Return it to the drawer when cleaning up.  It will be emptied on Monday morning.

The coffee urn, etc., should be cleaned.  Replace all supplies back in their proper spaces.  If you are cleaning up during second hour, please close louvered doors and kitchen door to help reduce noise level during classes.

If supplies are running low please leave a note on the church secretary’s desk.

Please leave the kitchen in order - replacing all items.
