Teen Caregiver

Information for Teen Caregivers
(3 - 4 Year Old Class)

Thank you for volunteering to help care for our three and four-year-olds
during part of the worship service. Please follow the guidelines below in
order to minimize safety concerns while the children are in your care.

1.    The loft is off-limits during this time period, so no playing there.

2.    The playground is also off-limits. This will save you from having to
        tend to scraped knees, splinters, or any other injury.

3.    Bathroom break: One of the teens must stay in the room with
        children who do not need to go to the bathroom while the other teen
        escorts the child(ren) to the bathroom. Be sure everyone washes
        their hands before leaving the bathroom.

4.    If a child gets upset or difficult to handle, one teen is to go to the
        deacon at the sanctuary door and ask for the parents to be
        notified. The other teen is to remain in the classroom with the
        children. Do not hesitate to seek assistance if you need it.

5.    A craft and snack will be provided for everyone in the classroom.

6.    Use your time

to tell the Bible story or passage associated with the craft,

have snack, and

have free play in the room (but not in the loft).

7.    Please leave the room orderly and trash thrown away for the Church
        School class to follow. Wait for the Church School teacher to arrive.

appreciate your willingness to minister in this way.
