CHRISTIAN NURTURE

In living a life of gratitude, we at Fairlawn seek to open our hearts to where God is calling us. We open our minds by studying and reflecting on God’s word to us. We open our arms by stepping out into our community in service.

Engaging with our faith gives us the opportunity to reflect upon God’s word to us. We can authentically and intentionally grow in faith together and as individuals when we seek out those opportunities to apply our faith in our church, community, and the world!

Youth Group

The Fairlawn Presbyterian Youth Group consists of youth in grades 7-12. Meetings are held every other Sunday during the school year from 5:30 – 7:00pm.

Mission projects conducted throughout the year include Christmas Caroling to homebound church members, collecting donations for the Souper Bowl of Caring, participating in Go and Serve Sundays, and helping Congregational Care assemble Advent and Lent at-home kits.

Men’s Breakfast

All men, young and not so young, are invited to come for great food and fellowship on the second Saturday of the month at 7:30 am when we return to in person fellowship.

Book Study

This small group meets on the third Tuesday of the month. This book discussion currently focuses on “Who is Jesus? What a Difference a Lens Makes” by Judy Yates Sikere.

Halfway through the Gospel of Mark, as Jesus and his disciples are on their way to Caesarea Philippi, Jesus turns to his disciples and asks, “So, what’s the word on the street? Who do people say that I am?” It seems like a reasonable question to ask the people who travel with you and who have the opportunity to hear what folks in their towns and villages are saying about their teacher. “Well,” they answer, “some say you are John the Baptist (back from the dead); others think you are one of the prophets, maybe Elijah, maybe another one.” Then Jesus looks them squarely in the eyes and asks, “Yes, but who do you say that I am?” Now that’s a good question! The author’s prayer is that, through the course of this study, you will find your own voice, your own answer. When Jesus turns and looks you squarely in the eyes and asks, “Who do you say that I am?” What will you say?

Nursery

Nursery care will be offered for newborn through 4 year old children for groups meeting on Sundays at 11:00am when we return to in person worship.
